Classification of vertical combustion tester of 500W flame combustion test

Author:QINSUN Released in:2023-10 Click:111

Vertical combustion tester is a testing instrument developed according to standards and used to test the combustion performance of plastics and non-metallic materials. It is suitable for laboratory determination of horizontal or vertical combustion properties of plastic and non-metallic material samples.

Microcomputer controlled operation of vertical combustion tester; high degree of automation, automatic recording of test time, automatic display of results, automatic timing, automatic ignition, automatic alarm system, the Bunsen burner automatically returns after flame application; horizontal and vertical burning samples Clamp motor control; precise timing.

For 500W flame burning test, according to UL94 regulation, it is divided into strip sample flammability test and penetrating resistance testEtration of the flame of the plate sample:

1. Vertical strip sample combustion test sample

The size of the sample (125mm ± 5mm) × (13mm_-4-0.5ram)×thickness (generally the smallest thickness required, the thickness cannot exceed t3mm).

The ring-shaped sample holder holds the sample 6 mm from the sample. A cotton ball with an area of 50 mm × 50 mm is placed horizontally under the sample. The distance between the lower end of the sample and the cotton is 300 mm ± 10 mm. , the angle between the Bunsen burner tube axis line and the vertical direction is 20±5°, apply flame burning to the sample 5 times with 5s±0.1s each time and a interval of 5 s ± 0.1 s. According to GB/T regulations, if the strip test sample has drops, bends and elongation during testing, the position of the torch should be adjusted sountil the cone of the blue conical flame core just touches the remaining part of the sample. Part of this requires being able to move the Bunsen burner in the vertical plane without affecting the internal environment of the test box during the experiment. The torch should be removed immediately after each application of flame to avoid affecting the continued combustion of the sample.

2. Plate row sample

The sample size is (150 mm ± 5 mm) × (150 mm ± 5 ram) × thickness (generally, a smaller thickness is required, thicker ones cannot exceed 13 mm).

Fix the sample horizontally with a ring-shaped sample clamp. The torch forms an angle of 20 ± 5° to the vertical surface, so that the top of the cone of the blue flame core just touches the center of the bottom surface of the plate-shaped sample. Apply a flame for 5 ± 0.5 s each times 5 times with an interval of 5 s ± 0.5 s. The torch should be removed immediately after each application of flame to avoid affecting the continued combustion of the sample. The samples were classified based on burning time.
