Instructions for preparing samples for testing with vertical combustion tester

Author:QINSUN Released in:2023-10 Click:106

The vertical combustion tester is a common instrument in fabric flame retardancy testing. It is used to test the burning performance of pajamas or decorative fabrics. It has a sealed stainless steel combustion chamber, an observation window and a standard burner, which can accurately test the flame spread. speed. Equipped with different sample clamps and accessory test sets to meet the requirements of different testing standards, the automatic gas control system can easily control the sampling process.

The vertical combustion tester is equipped with a sealed stainless steel combustion chamber and observation doors and windows; equipped with a standard combustion timer, which can detect the flame spread rate in time; different test standards are equipped with different sample clips and accessoriesmetallic; Automatic gas control system, including solenoid operated gas valve, automatic ignition timer and controller.

Preparing samples for vertical combustion tester test:

1. Cut out the pattern into a size of 300mm × 80mm, and the long side should be parallel to the direction warp or weft of the fabric.

2. Each group of test samples usually take 10 samples, 5 warp samples and 5 weft samples. Warp samples cannot be taken from the same warp and weft samples. Cannot be extracted from the same frame.

3. Before testing, the sample should be placed in equilibrium for 8 to 24 hours in a standard atmosphere with a temperature of (20 ± 2) ℃ and a relative humidity of (65 ± 2) % (depending on the thickness of the fabric, 8 hours is enough for fabrics, 24 hours for thick fabrics). Then take it out and put it inan airtight container. It can also be processed according to the conditions agreed by the parties concerned, such as drying at 105°C under ventilation for more than 1 hour, cooling in a dryer for 0.5 hours, etc.

Vertical combustion The tester meets standards: ASTM D6413-99, DOC-FF 3/71, CALIF TB-117, GB/T 5455, CPAI-84. Suitable for evaluating the flame retardant properties of textile materials.
