Dry crocking:
1.Prepare specimens >= 50 x 130 mm with long dimension oblique to warp & filling or Wales & courses.
2.Place test specimen on base of crockmeter with its long dimension along rubbing direction.
3.Place specimen holder over test specimen.
4.Mount a crockmeter cloth over the finger in which the weave is parallel to rubbing direction.
5.Position clip with loops upward.
6.Lower the covered finger onto the specimen at front end.
7.Crank it in 10 complete turns at 1 turn/sec.
8.Remove the crockmeter cloth for conditioning & evaluation.
Wet crocking:
1.Wet a crockmeter cloth to 65%.
2.Weigh dry crock square.
3.Using a syringe tube, draw up water in mL to 0.65times weight of crocking square, lay crocking square on white plastic mesh over a dish.
4.Apply water evenly over crocking square and weigh the wet square.
5.Calculate wet pickup. If needed, adjust the amount of water and using a new square, when 65%pickup is achieved, record the amount water used.
6.Apply the recorded amount of water for other square, repeat this process each day.
7.Proceed step 2.1.1 to 2.1.8
