Textile fuzzing and Pilling Property Testing Methods

Due to the difference of textiles’ raw materials, application and export area , the test methods are different when test textiles pilling resistance property. For example, Matindale method and box pilling method are mainly for European market, random tumble pilling method are mainly for the U.S.A market, and for China market is Circular Locus fuzzing and pilling method. 1.Martindale Abrasion and Pilling method Martindale Abrasion and Pilling method simulate the pilling state after textiles is rubbed by itself. This method is applicable for wool fabric and other easy to pilling woven fabric. 2.Circular Locus fuzzing and pilling method Corresponding domestic method is GB/T 4802.1-2008. 3. ICI Pilling Box type fuzzing and pilling method This method simulate the fuzzing and pilling condition when textile is rubbed by itself or outside friction force, mainly applicable for wool fabric. Corresponding domestic method is GB/T 4802.3—2008. 4.Random Tumble fuzzing and pilling method This method simulate the textiles surface fuzzing and pilling condition after textiles are rubbed by itself or outside high frequency abrasion. Corresponding domestic method is GB/T 4802.4—2009.
